Vistalux is proud to announce our five newest photographers: Deborah Anderson, Eric LaCour, Garth Aikens, Matt Beard, and Wendy Hope.

Described as "a photographer whose distinctive sensuality is located somewhere between classic French erotica and Helmut Newton" (Los Angeles Times), Deborah Anderson derived her style from her unique background. The first of three children, Deborah was born in London in the early '70s to Jon Anderson, legendary rock vocalist of the band Yes, and his wife, Jennifer. Deborah followed in her father’s footsteps as a singer and adopted her mother's love of photography. The photographic art of Deborah Anderson adorns the walls of such notables as Sir Elton John, Kid Rock, and jewelry designer Loree Rodkin. Deborah's two books, Paperthin and Room 23, which was released in March 2009, have garnered critical acclaim.

After developing his artistic abilities at a young age, Eric LaCour received numerous honors and accolades for his drawing, painting, sculpture and applied arts aiding him in the pivotal formulation of his artistic perspective and photographic career. Wanting to learn more about photography, he moved to Los Angeles to assist photographers such as John Russo and Randall Slavin. During his career, he developed a passion for conceptually photographing people, and as a result, fell into fashion photography. For the past three years, he has been shooting for Los Angeles and New York-based designers applying his creative background in drawing and painting to every aspect of his work from conceptualizing to shooting to post-production. He recently photographed AnnaLynne McCord, Michael Madsen, Kendra Wilkinson, and several fashion stories for Signature LA Direct. Eric is originally from Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Fine Art Photography.

Garth Aikens' career path has taken many unique turns. After four years in the Air Force, Garth worked in a variety of photo labs in New York, learning film processing while testing with model agencies around the City. He then moved to Italy, where his photo lab work involved such elite clients as Vogue Italia, Harper's Bazaar International, and other high-end fashion magazines and campaigns. While continuing to work in agency testing, Garth honed his skills at printing black-and-white and color, as well as practicing the European approach to lighting and photography. Upon his return to New York, he worked with Elite Model Management at many of the top magazine houses in town. In addition to Vogue Italia and Harper's Bazaar International, Garth’s impressive client list includes Greek Vogue, Cosmopolitan, the Gansevoort South Hotel and many other companies.

Matt Beard was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. He currently lives in LA with his wife and two sons and operates a professional photo studio in Hollywood known as STUDIO 1444. In 2005, he received a call to shoot a National campaign for the Ritz Carlton Hotel chain and his career took off. Several of his advertising clients include Lucky Brand Jeans, Victoria’s Secret, Betsey Johnson, Ashley Furniture, Clinique, Bare Escentuals, FreeScore.com, Vanguard Records, and VH1/MTV networks. Matt has also photographed a variety of editorial campaigns, including over twenty covers for Men’s Fitness Magazine in the UK.

A versatile and multi-faceted photographer, Wendy Hope specializes in shooting conceptual and clean beauty as well as elaborate productions for music and celebrity advertising. During her college career, Wendy worked an internship with Mark Seliger, which led to a full-time position, working many photo shoots for Rolling Stone magazine and entering the world of rock & roll photography. Following her time with Mark Seliger, Wendy moved to Los Angeles to work for Michael Lavine which afforded such opportunities to work with Annie Liebowitz and other famed photographers. Relocating back to New York, Wendy discovered working in the realm of hair & makeup via Ruven Afanador, and included work in this capacity ever since. Her work is best described as highly polished, vibrant, and clean. Wendy’s creative collaborations have garnered her a strong sense of imagery and an inspired sense of color and texture. In addition to still photography, Wendy has just directed her first beauty spot and is currently developing several more highly conceptual personal projects in motion and mixed media.
